HMOs
What is Human Milk Oligosaccharide (HMO)?
Many global organizations, including the World Health Organization and UNICEF, emphasize the importance of breastfeeding. Human milk oligosaccharide (HMO) is the third most abundant component in breast milk after lactose and fat. More than 200 types of HMO exists, and breast milk contains 100 times more oligosaccharides than bovine milk.
HMOs provide health benefits to babies such as intestinal microbial maturation, infection prevention, anti-allergy, etc.
Among the HMOs, we manufacture sialyllactose, a multifunctional material, at a large scale, and we are looking for partners for its commercialization.
We also manufacture 2’-Fucosyllactose and 3-Fucosyllactose, well known fucosylated HMOs2).
We are also equipped with the production technology for sialyllacto-N-tetraose a (LSTa).
