GeneChem Inc. has completed self-affirmed GRAS evaluation for its 3ʹ-Sialyllactose (3ʹ -SL) sodium salt (Trade Name: Siallac3®). NutraSource, Inc., USA convened the independent panel, the results of which will be submitted to the US FDA in the future, after the pre-submission meeting on January 24, 2017. With the purity of above 98%, GeneChem’s 3ʹ -SL can be used in term-infant formula and other foods and beverages. 3ʹ -SL has significant health benefits for the infants, because of its roles in supporting resistance to pathogens, gut maturation, immune function, brain and cognitive development.
